I was born in 1946 in the Western Australian town of Carnarvon (Kuwinywardu) which lies approximately 900km (560 miles) north of Perth.
My father was from a European background and my mother an aboriginal from the Tharrkari people.
I paint under the name of Nyremnyra, my maternal great-grandmother.
I draw my inspiration from the Australian landscape, my heritage, current events and the people I have met along life's journey.
My style is best described as "Naïve or outsider art" similar to that of Lowry or Henri Rousseau. But to me it is unique and a style that reflects the amalgam of my white Australian and indigenous roots and my own personal perception of the world we live in.
